Enviroment

The Trinity Project has something for everybody, which means it has many dimensions and encompasses a broad expanse of land within the City. The project is taking an impressive flood protection solution, which has functioned since the 1930s, and expanding it to create a new vibrant future for Dallas. This land is envisioned as a vast urban park to showcase an amazing greenway and ecological resource in Dallas.

Great White Egret Flying

The project resides under the City's Trinity Watershed Management Department along with Stormwater Management. Working alongside water of any type is the ultimate in sustainability. The world is 72% water but 97% of it is saltwater and cannot be consumed by mankind, plants or wildlife. To this end, it is extremely important for Dallas to safeguard the Trinity River and bring people back to enjoying its banks and caring about it as an important environmental resource.
